Travelbugs may also earn points by visiting the 50 states. Travelbugs receive points for being the first, second or third to visit a new state. They may only receive points for the first time they visit a state in relation to other travelbugs. Even if no other travelbugs visit that state, they would only receive points for being the 1st to enter that state.

There are still plenty of states that no travelbug has visited!
1st to visit a state wins 15 points,
2nd to visit a state wins 10 points, and
3rd to visit a state wins 5 points.
